The Gallery CASA DEL ARTE presents the second Group Exhibition of 2012 entitled FACE FACES FACEBOOK with the works of Anna Cholinska, artist from Poland, that studied and works in Zürich; Rosângela de Andrade Boss, from Brazil, that lives and works in Switzerland; Martin Gut, that works and lives in Luzern; Luis Lumbreras from Madrid, that lives in Zürich, and Christian Manss, that lives and works in Germany.

The 'face' is the common denominator of the works of this five artists and a symbol of their personal artistic research and world perception.

The environment of the Swiss artist Anna Cholinska is the hyper-reality of illustration and comics: Cholinska reports on plywood or carton (as she says, 'the preferred habitat for her colorful characters') the caricature or the imaginary reproductions of funny portraits, like football album-pictures and avatars from singles-stocks. The Gallery presents the national team of Ukraine and some portraits from the 70 portraits collection 'Liebstrieb', a fictional singles-stock.

The Rosângela de Andrade Boss's series 'Auf der Schwelle' ('On the threshold'), exhibited for FACE FACES FACEBOOK, is characterized by the mixture of drawings and collages on paper. The represented heads are characterized by details (objects, feelings, actions) that give to the series a melancholic coherence. She received from the Aargauer Kuratorium 2010 the prize 'Atelier 6 Months in Paris' and she has now the possibility to live and work, until June 2012 in the French capital.

One of the Gallery's rooms contains a Martin Gut's Installation, called 'Raum der Wut' ('Space of Anger'). The eclectic Swiss artist created an interactive area where the public can wear a new identity, represented by masks with the faces of famous persons, mentioned by newspapers or TV-news, and to be slapped by a machine located on the arm of an armchair. With this action, Gut tries to recreate a mood and to give a symbolic punishment. The installation 'Raum der Wut' is directly connected to the main theme of his works: the reflection about decadence of the human condition

If these three artists represent FACE as symbols and icons, a picture from the Spanish photographer Luis Lumbreras brings the point of view back to reality. Lumbreras studied at the School Capra of Madrid and worked with the Collective Chandra, experimenting with different art forms, as Theater and Cinema. His photography is the result of this experience with roles and fiction, which in an opposite way give to his pictures a harder realistic characterization.

To complete the FACES panorama of the exhibitions, the Gallery CASA DEL ARTE shows the works of Christian Manss from the series 'Self & Public Image'. These portraits on canvas are the reproduction of Facebook-friends self-portraits: the German artist analyzes the vision of self in the perspective of public representation (FACEBOOK).
