Descripción de la Exposición

Espacio Botero: At 86 years old, Botero remains a living Master! Paintings, Sculptures, and Drawings: A selection by internationally renowned modern master Fernando Botero's outstanding artwork is on exhibition at Gary Nader Art Centre and will be extended through Aug 31, 2020. Coinciding with "Botero on Lincoln Road" Nader Museum's monumental sculpture exhibition. Espacio Botero, organized by Gary Nader Art Centre, opened to the public on December 2, 2019, commanding extensive attention from an overwhelming amount of visitors in the first four weeks. Botero's signature style portrays people and figures in large, exaggerated volumes, which can represent political criticism or humor, depending on the piece. He is considered the most recognized and quoted living artist from Latin America. "I never use models - the still-lifes, the landscapes, the figures are all from my imagination. If I used models, I would be a slave to reality, and I need to be free." Fernando Botero Fernando Botero was born in Medellin, Colombia (1932). In 1950, he graduated from Medellin University. He went on to study in Spain and Italy before eventually moving to New York in 1960, where he won the Guggenheim National Prize for Colombia. Over the next few years, Botero began to develop his trademark style. The small-town life he experienced as a child and the Colombian people of his youth would become his richest source of inspiration. In 1973, Botero moved to Paris and began making sculptures. Botero has achieved international recognition for his painting, drawings, sculptures, and exhibitions around the world. His art is collected by many major international museums, corporations, and private collectors around the world.
