Descripción de la Exposición ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Beatriz Esguerra Arte presents Encounters a group exhibit of Colombian and international photographers including artists Laura Letinsky, Roland Fischer, Bill Jacobson, Janice Mehlman, Edgar Martins and Rachel Perry Welty, together with Colombian photographers: Lorenza Panero, Max Steven Grossman, Aníbal Gomescasseres and Sebastián Dávila. The purpose of this exhibit is to promote a dialogue between international creators, local artists, and the public, giving them the opportunity to compare ideas, technical and aesthetic intentions, and images. Encounters seeks to show that photography is not only used to record the world around us, but also to create abstract, surreal or hiperreal images, sometimes approaching painting in its compositions, colors and atmospheres. The works exhibited encompass an array of techniques ranging from direct, non-manipulated photography to photoperformance, luminography, montages and collages. These artists have received wide recognition and respect from the art world, museums and galleries, and the international press. This exhibit promises to be a great success with the public, photography lovers and connoisseurs.
