Descripción de la Exposición

Joao Felino has been presenting an extensive group of projects in an ongoing research driven by diverse mediums. The artist develops a body of work strongly rooted on a historical and conceptual framework that takes art also as a problematic category from its creation and presentation to its reception. Joao Felino was born in 1962 and he llives and works in Lisbon. His solo exhibitions include Flags of the World, MUDE - Design and Fashion Museum, Lisbon, 2014; newspaper paintings' preliminary drawings, A Montra, Lisbon, 2015 and Flaggen der Welt, Rosalux, Berlin, 2015, an exhibition during which he showed the performance Sandwiched (in Berlin), Kreuzberg, Mitte and Wedding, during the MPA-B, Month of Performance Art Berlin in its anthological 5th edition. We highlight the group shows Periplos - Portuguese Art Today, curated by Fernando Francés; Benetton Foundation, CAC - Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga / Contemporary Art Center of Málaga, Spain, 2016. Most recently he presented, a line is a li e is alive, Porta 14, Calçada do Correio Velho and the solo exhibition Faites vos Jeux,... at Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art gallery, 2017. Also, at contemporary art fair ARCO Lisboa 2018, he presented Emergency Exit, pre-presentation of the project Jack presents The Plinth and newspaper paintings ' preliminary drawings series, Rosalux, the Berlin-based art space, Drawing Room, Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, Lisboa, 2018.
