Commemorating Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida’s centennial, this exhibition showcases sculptures and works on paper from the Bechtler Museum’s collection.
This exhibition provides a focused look at the Eduardo Chillida’s innovative and varied practice by showcasing a selection of sculptures and works on paper from the permanent collection of the Bechtler Museum.
Famous for his enormous sculptures, Chillida also produced prints, drawings, collages, and sculptures on a domestic scale, some of which will be on display.
All of these pieces show how Chillida’s early architectural background and Basque upbringing greatly influenced his distinctive artistic vision, as well as how he continued to explore space, light, shape, and material.
