Descripción de la Formación

Scholars, philosophers, curators, and writers join artist Doris Salcedo in this day-long symposium to address issues of trauma, empathy, memory, and loss. The program concludes with an exhibition viewing of Doris Salcedo and reception. $15, $10 members. Free student tickets for this program are no longer available. Students with a valid school ID may purchase tickets for the discounted rate of $5. Participants Elizabeth Adan is Associate Professor of Art History at California Polytechnic State University. Carlos Basualdo is Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Katherine Brinson is Curator of Contemporary Art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and exhibition curator of Doris Salcedo. Leslie Jamison is Assistant Professor in Writing at Columbia University. Roderick Mengham is Reader in English Literature at the University of Cambridge. Jean-Luc Nancy is Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel Chair at the European Graduate School. Alexander Nemerov is Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at Stanford University. Doris Salcedo (b. 1958, Bogotá) lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia.
