Descripción de la Exposición From April 14 until July 29, 2012 the Verbeke Foundation organizes the first wide-ranging exhibition in Belgium of German artist Wolf Vostell (1932-1998). Vostell was one of the most relevant figures in 20th century Art History. In the 1950's he experimented with the de-coll/age technique. At the same time he was also considered as one of the pioneers of video art and as a founder member of the Fluxus movement. He developed the very first happenings taking place in Europe and created numerous fluxus performances, concerts and operas all over the world. He was known for his environment-sculptures and embedding objects in concrete (cars and trains for example). The exhibition is mainly focused on Vostell's concept of visual and sound de-coll/age, to which he devoted his entire life. The collage museum at the Verbeke Foundation hosts a unique selection of the most important pieces of the Museo Vostell Malpartida collection (Spain), as well as an important number of posters of about 200 solo exhibitions organized during Vostell's life. Collages, assemblages, sound installations and videos allow a closer insight into the (de-)construction process that was at the core of his oeuvre.
