Descripción de la Exposición
A solo exhibition of the new collection of Spanish artist David Agenjo is now on display at D-Contemporary Gallery (Ground floor). Simultaneously with the Nigerian artist Chibuike Uzoma’s solo exhibition (First floor)
Co-curated by Mara Alves, curator at D Contemporary, and Inês Valle, founder of the CERA PROJECT.
DAVID AGENJO
His new collection of portraits and life studies is inspired by his latest artistic residencies in the densely populated cities of Shenzhen and Mumbai. Themes of the everyday are emphasised; giving a greater status to subjects that would perhaps otherwise go unnoticed. Visual narratives of quantity and repetition symptomatic of endless manufacturing and human labour are depicted throughout the collection. His works explore the revealing and concealed aspects of modern life via textiles, patterns and waste.
CHIBUIKE UZOMA
A work that engages with African realities, reflecting individual stories to the global circle history.
A visual artist based in Nigeria. Always drawn by life and the reciprocals between humans and its condition thought photography, painting, text and drawing
