Descripción de la Exposición
Established in 2015, TWHH-TheWholeHoleHall has become one of the most secret underground venues in the city and has both, reflected and increased the awareness for contemporary art, architecture, design and alternative publishing. After having hosted projects by the Belgium collective UP-Koenraad Dedobbeleere and Kris Kimpe (April 1, 2015) and the Brussels based Spanish artist Oriol Vilanova (April 1, 2016), the initiators -product designer Curro Claret, curator Moritz Küng and MAIO architects (Maria Charneco, Alfredo Lérida, Guillermo López, Anna Puigjener)- are delighted to announce the third consecutive exhibition by acclaimed artist Ignasi Aballí (Barcelona, 1958).
After his two major shows last year at the MNCARS-Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid and the Fundación Joan Miró in Barcelona, Ignasi Aballí conceived for THWW a new and site sensitive work entitled "Exhibition continues". Within the given spatial context -a barely accessible and only 3,3 m2 large space- Aballí's tongue-in-cheek title and sparse intervention mutates in an ever lasting loop that forces the viewer to become part of the scenario. Once again Ignasi Aballí offers a conceptual reflection on the representation and perception of different mediums (painting, object, photography, fiction and even performance), and explores opposites as presence-absence, material-immaterial, visible-invisible, or appropriation-creation. The exhibition continues... as long as it last.
