Descripción de la Exposición ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- This exhibit compiles the works of four artists who express their ideological itinerary of photography. Tomas Sánchez, Ines White, José L. Diaz Montero and Flor Mayoral take on different perspectives through their camera lenses of natural and urban landscapes. Tomas Sánchez, Aguada de Pasajeros, Cuba, 1948. Lives and works between Miami and Costa Rica. He studied at the San Alejandro National Academy of Arts (1964-66) and in the National School for the Arts (1967-71). He has participated in solo and collective exhibitions in over 30 countries (Mexico, United States, Japan, Italy, France, etc.) Among his most significant exhibits are: Tomas Sánchez: A Retrospective at the National Museum of Fine Art (Havana, Cuba. 1985); Tomas Sánchez: 'Different Worlds' at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art (Florida, USA. 1996), The 60th Anniversary Celebration, Tomas Sánchez: A Retrospective, Museum of Contemporary Art (Monterrey, Mexico. 2008) 'Tomas Sánchez; Notas Al Paso' Photography exhibit. Casa de Vacas, Parque del Buen Retiro (Madrid, Spain. June 2013). Ines White. Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lives and works in Buenos Aires. Lawyer and Photographer. Studied at the Andy Goldstein School of Photography and at the School of photographer Diego Ortiz Mugica.White's work is linked to the phenomena of water in conjunction with light. The intersection of these two matters shaped some mythologies about the creation of the world. She has been featured in solo and group exhibits in Argentina, Peru, Spain, Canada and the United States. José L. Diaz Montero, Havana. Cuba 1967. Lives and works in Miami. Self-taught artist, his work is carried out in a close relationship with the city and the BEING within the Minimalism, Pop Art and the Abstract. He has honed his craft studying Analog-Digital Photography and Photography Design. He has participated in over 30 exhibitions and his works can be found in collections in Cuba, Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, France, England and the United States. Flor Mayoral. Havana. Cuba 1955. Resides and Works in Miami. Her first photographs (taken in late 1970s and beginning of the 1980s) address the private space from the aesthetics of the family photo album. These are scenes that capture the intimacy and the habits of domestic life, narrated with images encrypted in autobiography. In the nineties, she develops a special interest in natural themes and landscape photos in general. She has participated in several collective and solo exhibitions, most recently 'Pisa-Coral Gables:Ciudades Imaginadas' History Museum of Coral Gables (May 2013).
