Descripción de la Exposición
Curated by Zoë Lippett, the exhibition features a series of never-before-seen drawings inspired by Carlos Bunga’s childhood experiences of moving between fragile, temporary homes that often collapsed and vanished from history. Accompanying these powerful works is a film created a decade ago, capturing the artist’s dynamic process of erasing sketches of both real and imagined buildings to pave the way for new creations.
In addition, early sketches of household items are showcased within an immersive gallery installation. Highlighting Bunga’s enduring fascination with the built environment and nature, the exhibition also includes a large textile house and cocoon sculptures.
As a special feature, Bunga will craft a new large-format painting for the Gallery’s street-facing window box. This site-specific piece will incorporate twigs and leaves collected from the artist’s surroundings.
