Descripción de la Exposición
Elaborating on what doesn't belong to us is, after all, an exercise in absence. The universe presented by the artist is an example of this – when traversing Charbel-joseph H. Boutros, Untitled until now, one experiences a suspension within the window of reality, crossing paths with the immensity of lives lived not only by the artist, but also by each of the materials used in his works. Here, this specific encounter takes place over the course of 73 days of exhibition, to never happen again.
H. Boutros manipulates his chosen medium into physical form in relation to that object’s lived experience. A symbolic golden ring is separated into five pieces and incorporated into five large broken marble stones, each from different parts of the world – Lebanon,
Brazil, Greece, France and Belgium, forming "Life variation #3, the marbles, the ring and the continents". Five different geographies that served as a terrain for the artist's life. The dense, imposing stones each made their own way to meet in the exhibition room and
receive their new companions, in the form of a fragmented ring. Their stay here is transitory, they will each resume their journey once the exhibition is finished and the broken, golden ring dispatched in different parts of the world, an homage to a love lived.
