Descripción de la Exposición
Performance: 7 pm
Screening of Leticia Ramos’s films with original soundtrack and live Foley by Rossano Snel and the Supernova Ensemble
“In this exhibition, we are taken on an extraordinary journey where the boundaries that separate science, art, and imagination no longer exist. Letícia Ramos’s work is a celebration of human creativity and demonstrates the role art plays in understanding the world around us,” says Nuno Crespo − curator of this exhibition and director of the Escola das Artes at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa − about Campo Magnético.
Letícia Ramos builds visual landscapes between boundaries of the past and future. Her rigorous investigation of the analog photographic medium lends itself to sculpture, models, and special effects techniques that shape imaginary landscapes, narratives, and fabrications through photographs, film, and installations. Ramos uses natural elements and optical effects to represent concepts vital to politics, science, and the imagination using natural elements as transmitters of ideas where there is an overlap between the past and future temporalities and express historical continuities.
Campo Magnético opens on May 2 at 7 pm in the Auditório Ilídio Pinho with screenings of Letícia Ramos’s films accompanied by an original soundtrack and live Foley by Rossano Snel and the Supernova Ensemble.
