Descripción de la Exposición
Monitor Lisbon is pleased to announce the opening of Bleeding Edge. Following its debut in Rome, the exhibition now unfolds its second chapter at our Portuguese gallery, with works by: Lucia Cantò, Claire de Santa Coloma, Maja Escher, Satya Forte, Ana Marchand, Teresa Magalhães and Elisa Montessori.
The term "bleeding edge" refers to something that is extremely advanced or innovative, to the point of being risky or not yet fully tested. It is often used in technological and scientific fields to describe cutting-edge technologies or ideas that are on the "razor's edge" in terms of development. In English, it can be translated as "extreme avanguard". Just like the artists featured in the show, whose research pushes the boundaries of the known or the conceivable.
"Imaginable, therefore possible" could be the subtitle of this exhibition, which addresses themes such as nightmarish visions, personal obsessions, experimental methodologies, folk traditions, and domestic memories. All of this comes together to express the idea and drive of microcosms that, collectively, form a world.
