Descripción del Premio

Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo and The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center are proud to announce that Rozana Montiel Saucedo, Mariana Rondón, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz, Melanie Smith, Michel Franco Maimon, Mayra Santos-Febres, and Eduardo Sguiglia have been selected to participate in the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Arts & Literary Arts Residency next year. Earlier this year, Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo and The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center joined efforts to expand their support of mid-to late-career artists from Latin America and create opportunities for international dialogue and exposure through the Bellagio Center Residency program. The collaboration builds upon Fundación Jumex’s generous and longstanding Grants and Scholarships Program created to support artists and organizations committed to production, research and promotion of contemporary art. To help select the artists, Fundación Jumex appointed a nominating committee and jury of distinguished representatives from different countries in the region and disciplines, including professionals in the fields of music, film, dance and choreography, literature, theater, architecture and the visual arts. The nominating committee identified mid-career and established artists who represent the highest standards in varied disciplines, and whose work can be inscribed within The Rockefeller Foundation’s guidelines for influence, resiliency and inclusive economies. The jury was tasked with reviewing the nominations and determining a shortlist of 15 artists to be recommended to the Bellagio Residency Program Selection Committee. Following the residency at the Bellagio Center in Italy, Museo Jumex will organize different public programs and presentations that will provide Mexican audiences with the opportunity to engage with some of the artists who participated in this process and their work. This collaboration is one of several new international collaborations initiated by The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center to bring leading contemporary artists across the globe to the multi-disciplinary residential program that serves artists, scholars and practitioners. About Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo was established in 2001, with the aim of supporting and promoting contemporary art. Through each one of its platforms—Museo Jumex, Colección Jumex, and Grants and Scholarships—the Foundation aims to foster the production and knowledge of contemporary art and culture. About The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center’s Residency Program supports the work of scholars, artists, thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners from a wide diversity of geographies, sectors, and disciplines, and has a rich history as a convening space for critical cross-disciplinary and international discourse. Through a combination of four-week residencies and one-week conferences, the Center enables the advancement of critical dialogue, thinking and action that promotes the well-being of humanity throughout the world.
