Descripción de la Exposición

Martin Derner’s work arises from a very particular aesthetic though which he presents the results of the exploration of several artistic practices and diverse materials, forms and concepts, having in each work a surprising element that challenges the eye. Some pieces constitute series of works directly related between them, whereas others appear unexpectedly. Although the title Banalities, nothing ordinary will be presented, since, as the artist explains, these are common objects, acknowledged with a renovated look and that reborn with a new life. Constança Babo Martin Derner (1973) lives and works in Bratislava where he obtained his degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Since 2005 that he is a professor at the Academy of Arts – Faculty of Fine Arts, Banská Bystrica at Slovakia. The artist has been exhibiting regularly since 2000 at Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany, and his work is represented in several public and private collections.
