On Thursday, April 18, 2019, in New York City, ArtTable, the foremost professional organization dedicated to the advancement of professional women in the visual arts, will honor two industry leaders at its annual benefit and award ceremony.
Visionary curator, collector, and philanthropist, Estrellita B. Brodsky, will receive the Distinguished Service to the Visual Arts Award (DSVA). Alexandra Chang, Curator of Special Projects and Director of Global Arts Programs at Asian/Pacific/American Institute at New York University will also be recognized with the 2019 New Leadership Award (NLA). The keynote address will be delivered by Amy Cappellazzo, Chairman, Fine Art Division, Sotheby’s.
This year, for the first time, ArtTable will launch two artist projects at the annual benefit, featuring original designs by installation artist Jean Shin. Shin’s work has been widely exhibited in more than 150 major museums and cultural institutions, with solo exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Fabric Workshop and Museum, and Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others. ArtTable commissioned Shin to create both the step and repeat banner as well as an exclusive tote bag, on offer for all members and guests.
The annual spring event is the singular annual benefit and award program that has continuously celebrated the contributions and accomplishments of the exemplary leadership of women in the visual arts.
