Mariana Silva and Pedro Neves Marques are the artists-in-residence at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in 2019.
Together, they are the founders of Inhabitants, an online channel for exploratory video and documentary reporting. Inhabitants produces and streams short-form videos intended for free online distribution. It was shortlisted for the 2017 Visible Award and has worked with or shown at institutions such as the New Museum (within the 2018 New Museum Triennial), Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Museu Coleção Berardo, Contour8, and DocLisbon International Film Festival. It is currently collaborating with TBA21-Academy and art curator Margarida Mendes on a long-term web series about deep sea mining. Pedro Neves Marques is a filmmaker, visual artist and writer born in Lisbon, Portugal, and based in New York. He has exhibited and screened his films widely, including at art institutions such as Tate Modern, Jeu de Paume, Pérez Art Museum of Miami, e-flux, and Museu Coleção Berardo.
