ART021 announces that the debut of ART021 Hong Kong Contemporary Art Fair (ART021 Hong Kong) will be held from August 28 to September 8, 2024. Financially supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, ART021 Hong Kong is committed to bringing a new vision and a new model of art fair. It marks the presence of the mainland art fair in the Hong Kong for the first time, enriching the already vibrant landscape of art scenes across Asia and beyond. By collaborating with iconic art venues across Hong Kong, ART021 Hong Kong is proud to present five distinctive sections of programmes during the event period.
The Galleries section will be held from August 29 to September 1 at Phillips Asia headquarters in the WKCDA Tower at the West Kowloon Cultural District. Concurrently, the Videos section will be hosted in the Asia Society Hong Kong Center. The four-day Expansion section, co-organised with the Fringe Club, comprises various programmes include a special exhibition, live performances, forums and other activities.
Beyond the dynamic itinerary above, ART021 Hong Kong aims to stage a series of art events across the city. From August 28th to September 8th, the public section Sculpture will be showcased at Victoria Park and Fringe Club for 12 consecutive days. Another essential part is the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Art Week (GBA ART WEEK), which will create a platform to connect galleries, art museums and institutions in the area to join forces promoting visibility of the local art community.
ART021 Hong Kong makes the most of Hong Kong’s vital position as a cultural exchange hub in Asia and the world beyond, as well as its urban culture, to connect Hong Kong with surrounding Asian regions. ART021 Hong Kong positions itself with enriched programmes to uplift Chinese and Asian art communities in a global context. ART021 Hong Kong will welcome a group of unique galleries and artists to make their debut in Hong Kong, facilitating a dialogue between Hong Kong and cultural communities outside the traditional art market.
