Art Miami gallery highlights for 2024 include:
● Joyce Varvatos returns to Art Miami as an art advisor, bringing her extensive experience working with collectors, sponsors, and galleries to support the fair. She assists patrons in acquiring art and educates them on the process of building a meaningful art collection.
● Jaguar will present “Copy Nothing,” the first global public installation for its new brand, which will include the physical manifestation of its Exuberant Modernism creative philosophy in a Design Vision Concept. This dramatic, unmistakable, and unexpected expression of what it means to Copy Nothing will preview the fearless approach to come from Jaguar. Jaguar’s presence at Art Miami will establish its advocacy for artistic expression in all its forms. Through a series of meticulously curated gallery spaces over two locations, Jaguar will share its platform with new and groundbreaking emerging artists who share its ethos of Copy Nothing. Art Miami will also feature an exclusive Jaguar VIP Lounge, offering a luxurious space for invited guests to unwind and connect.
● Castle Fine Art is set to unveil captivating works by renowned artists Boy George and Johnny Depp, each showcasing a unique side of their creativity on canvas. Boy George brings his kaleidoscopic style and unapologetic authenticity to life, painting with the same vibrant boldness that defines his character. Depp, on the other hand, channels his signature stoicism and fascination with the darker facets of fame, painting as he acts—with shadows, mystery, and the power of the unspoken.
● Chase Contemporary will be displaying new artwork by 13-year-old art prodigy Andres Valencia, who recently announced the release of his first book ANDRES VALENCIA: PAINTING WITHOUT RULES set to be released by publishing house DK Penguin Random House on February 18, 2025. Andres has donated over $1 million of his art to several charities and his work is supported by celebrity fans/collectors including Sofia Vergara, Eva Longoria, Karol G, and more.
● Long-Sharp Gallery will showcase Andy Warhol’s works highlighting his fascination with fashion and connections to iconic figures of his era. The exhibit features 18 pieces, including five large-scale graphite drawings of 1980s models, 1950s shoe sketches, and pieces reflecting his friendship and collaboration with Halston. This "Focus on Fashion" extends beyond Warhol’s art, as the mother-daughter-owned Long-Sharp Gallery partners with leading South Florida fashion brands founded by women designers. Fairgoers can look for new designs by JBQ the Label (Miami-based Maria and Sydney Strauss) and The House of Perna (founded by Project Runway’s Amanda Perna). Designers and fashion models will be onsite on opening day.
● Gary Snyder Fine Art MT is excited to feature Montana artist Ben Miller’s Endangered River Project, a collection of paintings of rivers painted entirely with a fly rod. Ahead of the fair, Miller will spend three days creating a 4x8-foot plexiglass piece inspired by Miami's Little River, a historic site threatened by environmental stress and development. The completed work, displayed in Art Miami’s Little River Café, will benefit Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Miami’s leading native wildlife hospital and education center.
● Priveekollektie Contemporary Art | Design brings together European and Spanish artists whose works explore cultural unity, the beauty of nature, and notions of life in the universe. Highlights include David Dessens’ immersive digital landscapes, Boris van Berkum’s intercultural art bridging historical divides, and Salustiano’s refined, haunting portraits.
● JETER is a collection of artworks created by Russell Young, reimagining two iconic images hand-selected by the artist and Baseball Hall of Famer Derek Jeter, the five-time World Series Champion and 14-time All-Star shortstop. The unprecedented collection is highlighted by six unique, large-scale paintings of each portrait entitled “The Jump” and “The Swing”, which will be featured during the VIP opening of Art Miami (booth AM115) and on display in a dedicated JETER booth by Taglialatella Galleries at CONTEXT Art Miami (booth B9) throughout Miami art week.
● HackelBury Fine Art is set to showcase Sharon Walters’ thought-provoking series, Seeing Ourselves, which delves into themes of beauty standards and identity through intricate paper cut-outs. Walters’ work celebrates the complexity and beauty of Black womanhood, challenging and redefining traditional representations.
● Buckner Projects will present a diverse range of works by iconic Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein alongside renowned South African artist Esther Mahlangu, 88, whose pieces reflect her cultural heritage. The gallery’s collection highlights both established and rising talents and places an emphasis on cultural diversity.
● Blond Contemporary will present a mix of British greats like David Hockney, Damien Hirst, and Henry Moore, alongside emerging minority artists such as Sophia Bounou, whose American-French Algerian background informs her unique artistic voice.
● Cernuda Arte will showcase Afro-Cuban masters and the African diaspora’s visual language. Cernuda Arte brings a powerful Caribbean perspective to Art Miami and will feature works by Wifredo Lam, Manuel Mendive, and Juan Roberto Diago to emphasize heritage and identity through vibrant, culturally resonant art.
● Sundaram Tagore Gallery will present an array of works from artists who are deeply engaged in cross-cultural explorations, such as Miya Ando, Robert Natkin, Jane Lee, Kenny Nguyen, Neha Vedpathak, Hiroshi Senju, Zheng Lu, and more.
● Galerie Raphael will be exhibiting a new, limited-edition print by Alex Katz, Autumn 6 (2024, Silkscreen in color on Saunders paper, 72 x 48 in; Edition of 75), alongside bold works by Marc Chagall, David Hockney, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Sam Francis, and Robert Longo.
