In "That which I also forget" curated by Carlos Herrera, Martin Salinas exhibits part of his most recent production.
The artist lets us see his human scale sculptures that defy his previous works, which used to come from the universe of collage and careful installations in medium or small sizes. This challenge is not exclusively related to a change of scale but to a new point of view which the author takes to think his work, making clear the role played by his own body in order to manifest.
In this change, Salinas seems to move with the subtlety and moderation of a fashion designer in his atelier who challenges materiality and lets the composition escape from his hands or rather, lets it manifest before him.
It seems that, with some paranormal power, fabrics, wood, brushes, glass and lights were positioned in front of our eyes in an intimidating manner. It is now...the work that looks at us, naked. And it is responsible for such an event and a universe that only Martin knows, the oblivion.
