Descripción del Premio ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- The idea of this biennale is to stimulate and give support to the plastic arts, and in particular painting and to those artists who employ this technique. In turn, this prize helps to create an art foundation which becomes the citizen's patrimony. Hence, honouring Pallares hospitality, we invite you to participate in the 2010 Painting Competition. Rules: The 6th Painting Prize Tremp has now become a biennale as from this edition and There will be 4 prizes and 3 participation categories: 1- Painting Prize.of 2.000 euros 2- Privately sponsored Prize of 1.000 euros 3- Local Prize in the form of an exhibition in Tremp in 2010 4- Junior Prize (12 and under 12) of painting materials The Local Prize is reserved for residents in the Tremp municipality and they may also participate in the 1st and 2nd prizes. The prizes may not be divided nor declared void. The corresponding tax deductions will be made from each prize awarded. Theme, technique and support are free. Work of a fragile nature or on a fragile support will not be admitted. No restriction on format but a minimum of 30x30cm. and maximum of 120x130cm. The work must be original and not have won any previous prize. If the work is submitted framed, the frame may not exceed 3cm.in width. Glass is NOT permitted. If the work requires protection a rigid transparent plastic is acceptable. Maximum two (2) works may be submitted per person. All works to be signed and dated clearly and legibly on the reverse side and the 'TOP' to be clearly marked. The inscription form must be attached to the reverse side of the work. The works must be adequately wrapped for transport. at the author's own risk and cost and sent to: Centre Civic Tarraquet C. De L'Alcalde Rossell, 8 - 10 25620 TREMP (Spain) together with the inscription form duly completed, Artist's C.V. (if possible) and with the inscription slip on the back of each work; from Monday to Friday from 16 to 20h. (tel. 973 652300). '6th Painting Prize City of Tremp' must be clearly marked on the package. Date limit for submission 9th April 2010. The selection of the works for the competition will be made by an organising committee made up of members of the town council, cultural dept, galleries and artists. A catalogue will be printed of the selected works. The selected works will be exhibited at the 'CASAL CULTURAL de TREMP', (Pl. Catalunya, 6. 2nd floor) from the 7th to 30th May 2010. The jury : Joanpere Massana (President) Artist and member of the national heritage arts council of I.E.I. Lleida Gustau Chalamanch Artist and cultural assessor, La Pobla de Segur. Anna Comellas Artist and teacher at the Llotja School, Barcelona Rosa Creixell Academic secretary with a masters in National Heritage management, Barcelona University. Carles Monegal Artist, master in lithography and gallery owner in Tremp. Silvia Romero Cultural officer on the Tremp Town Council. The jury will resolve any unforeseen aspects that may not have been included above and their verdict will be final. The prize-giving will take place at 13h on Sunday the 9th of May 2010 at the CASAL CULTURAL de TREMP Association's headquarters in Tremp. The painting awarded 1st prize remains the property of the Town Council, becoming part of the the city of Tremp's art collection. The 2nd prize will become the property of the company 'Contafisa SL' including all rights to reproduction, broadcasting, exhibiting and publication (this applies to both 1st and 2nd prize). Participating artists concede the rights of reproduction for the catalogue. The rest of the selected works as well as the non selected works must be recuperated as from 15th June 2010 until 30th July 2010 from the Tarraquet Civic Centre with the corresponding receipt. Once past this date limit for collection it will be understood that the artist renounces ownership and all rights to the works not collected and these will become the property of the Tremp Town Council. The Tremp Town Council will take due care of all works received but decline all responsibility for unforeseen accidents or those caused by force majeure. Under no circumstances will the Town Council be responsible for transport. By taking part in this competition signifies that you understand the rules completely.
