Descripción del Artista
Debora Bolsoni has a master degree in visual poetics at the Escola de Comunicação e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo – ECA/USP (2014). She studied at the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage in Rio de Janeiro (1991 to 1993) and in the Saint Martin School of Art, London (1993). Nowadays she is an assistant artist-collaborator of the Visual Arts Department and in this capacity she teaches art at the São Paulo University. Debora Bolsoni is a Lauréate of the commission visual arts of the Cité internationale des arts.
"Bolsoni is largely known as an installation artist, specially for her tendency to use construction materials and everyday appliances by removing them from their ordinary contexts. By re-signifying tiles, trolleys, and trinkets we take for granted and engaging with them as the stuff of her work, she imbues them with a certain presence. These objects become recurrent characters in her work. Bolsoni has been learning from her object-subjects for years now, observing carefully how they carry themselves around and drawing them at it".
