Almudena Lobera (Madrid, 1984) is a visual artist currently based in Belgium and Madrid. She has a BA Fine Art and an MA in Arts, Creation and Research from the Complutense University of Madrid. She was laureate from the HISK High Institute for Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium (2015-16). She did artistic residences at the UCL Slade, London, UK (2010), FAAP São Paulo, BR (2011), Casa de Velázquez-Academy of France in Madrid, ES (2013), Foundation B.a.d, Rotterdam, NL (2013), Real Academia de España en Roma, IT (2014-2015) and Les Récollets, Paris, FR (2015). Her work has been exhibited at Emergent, Furnes (2017), the Fundación Luis Seoane, Coruña (2016), CCI Fabrika, Moscow (2015), Faena Arts Miami (2015), Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York (2014), Fabra i Coats, Barcelona (2014), Foundation B.a.d. Rotterdam (2013), Matadero, Madrid (2012), Pivô, São Paulo (2012), Casa Encendida, Madrid (2012), Tabacalera, Madrid (2011), Galería Vermelho. São Paulo ... (2011), and international art fairs such as: ARCO Madrid, Zona MACO México; ArtBo Bogotá; PARC Lima; SP Arte São Paulo; Artissima Torino; Art Brussels; UNTITLED Miami. She has received several awards such as: Generation 2012 Award from Caja Madrid; Circuits 2011, Madrid; the INJUVE Projects Award 2011, the FIBArt 2011 grant, the Del Plano al Cubo Award CCE_México, the Aid for Production in Visual Arts 2012 Com. Madrid, the ABC Award 2013 and the Academy of Spain in Rome Grant 2014. Almudena Lobera works alternative ways for the configuration of the visible, and different immaterial natures of the image. Her practice includes: drawing, installation, site-specific projects, documented fictional situations... proposing other ways of seeing what remains hidden or in the state away from the visual, and considering the space and the beholder the integral elements and activators of the works. Her work aims to connect the legacy of the past and the influence of the history and classical authors with the ephemeral and virtual image qualities in our era. ------------------------------------------------------------- Admitida en HISK Higher Institute for Fine Arts en Gante, Bélgica, para el curso 2015-2016. Su trabajo ha podido verse en diversas muestras colectivas en España, Alemania, Portugal, Reino Unido, Suiza, Holanda, Italia, Brasil, Chile y Argentina. Entre 2010 y 2013 ha realizado varias muestras individuales: Desvelatorio en Brita Prinz (Madrid), Reflection-Reflexion en UCL Slade School of Fine Art (Londres), Manual de la Imagen Mental en la Galería Rafael Pérez Hernando (Madrid), Lugar entre en la Galería Eva Ruiz (Madrid), Portadores en la Galería Diablo Rosso (Panamá) y Lectura superficial en el Museo ABC en ARCOmadrid 2013 (Madrid).
