Descripción del Artista
OSGEMEOS, literally meaning “the twins,” is the pseudonym of Brazilian twin brothers Gustavo and Otávio Pandolfo (b. 1974 in São Paulo). This artistic duo, whose roots are in hip-hop culture and graffiti, began in the 1980s to develop a highly sophisticated oeuvre recognizable for its dreamlike landscapes and poetic figures, drawing on a vast range of cultural, social and political references.
In a career spanning nearly three decades, OSGEMEOS have helped spread culture through public spaces and into international museums, among others: Parallel Connection, Midnight Moment, Times Square Arts, New York, USA; Bunker, Museu Casa do Pontal, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil; The Giant of Minsk, Vulica Brasil Festival, Minsk, Belarus (2015); “A ópera da lua”, Galeria Fortes Vilaça, São Paulo, Brasil; Giants, Vancouver Biennale, Canada (2014); ICA - The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, USA (2012); Fermata, Museu Vale, Espírito Santo, Brasil (2011); Vertigem, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Brasília; “Brasil Nos Braços de um Anjo”, Galleria Patricia Armocida, Milan, Italy; “Pra quem mora lá, o céu é lá”, Museu Colecção Berardo, Lisboa, Portugal (2010); Vertigem, Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro; MAB FAAP - Museu de Arte Brasileira, São Paulo, Brasil (2009); Vertigem, Museu Oscar Niemeyer, Curitiba, Brasil; “Too Far Too Close”, Deitch Project Gallery, New York, USA; Galeria Pilar Parra e Romero, Madrid, Spain (2008); “As Flores deste Jardim meus Avós Plantaram”, Museum Het Domein Sittard, Sittard, The Netherlands; “Desenho”, Galeria Fortes Vilaça, São Paulo, Brasil (2007); “O peixe que comia estrelas cadentes”, Galeria Fortes Vilaça, São Paulo, Brasil (2006); “Nike Tour, Fire House”, New York, USA; Milan, Italy; Paris, France; National Stadium, Tokyo, Japan; Hong-Kong; China; London, UK; “Creative Time Project”, Coney Island, USA; “WaterMill”, Robert Wilson Center, New York, USA ; “Cavaleiro Marginal”, Deitch Project Gallery, New York, USA (2005); “Pavil”, Luggage Store Gallery, San Francisco, USA (2003).
