Curator Bala Starr, born in Melbourne, is currently the director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. She was previously head curator of the Ian Potter Museum of Art, director of international programming at the Melbourne International Biennale, director of the Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia, and assistant director of Gertrude Contemporary. She has overseen numerous exhibitions and publications with contemporary artists.
